Immerse yourself in the laid-back lifestyle and deep history of Chengdu on this 4-day private tour. We take you to the world-famous Giant Panda Breeding Research Base to see the pandas at their most active time. A highlight of this trip is the journey to the Sanxingdui Museum to witness the alien-like bronze masks of the Ancient Shu Kingdom. Note: Due to high ticket demand, if Sanxingdui is fully booked, we will explore the equally magnificent Jinsha Site Museum. Back in the city, walk in the footsteps of poets and heroes at Du Fu Thatched Cottage and Wuhou Shrine. This is the perfect blend of nature, archaeology, and culture.
Welcome to Chengdu! Upon arrival at Chengdu Tianfu (TFU) / Shuangliu (CTU) Airport or Railway Station, our professional driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest or explore the nearby streets to get your first taste of spicy hotpot!
Morning: We start early (around 08:00) to visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Pandas. Morning is the best time to see pandas eating bamboo and playing before they sleep. Afternoon: We drive to Guanghan to visit the Sanxingdui Museum, famous for its mysterious 3,000-year-old bronze masks and the “Divine Tree.” (Important: Sanxingdui tickets are extremely limited. If we cannot secure tickets, we will visit the Jinsha Site Museum in downtown Chengdu instead. Jinsha is the successor to the Sanxingdui civilization and houses the symbol of China’s Cultural Heritage, the “Golden Sun Bird”.) Lunch & Dinner are on your own expense.
Morning: Visit Du Fu Thatched Cottage, the peaceful residence of the Tang Dynasty’s greatest poet. Stroll through the bamboo gardens where Du Fu wrote over 240 poems. Afternoon: Visit Wuhou Shrine, China’s only joint temple of a monarch and his minister, dedicated to Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei of the Three Kingdoms period. Late Afternoon: Step right next door to Jinli Ancient Street. With its red lanterns, traditional architecture, and endless snack stalls, it’s a great place to experience Chengdu’s folk culture. Lunch & Dinner are on your own expense.
