Jiuzhaigou & Bipenggou

Why choose between water, ice, and forests when you can have them all? This action-packed 5-day private tour takes you on a loop through the most spectacular landscapes of Northern Sichuan. You will marvel at the multi-colored pools of Huanglong and the dreamlike waterfalls of Jiuzhaigou. But the adventure doesn’t stop there—you will ascend to 4,860 meters on Dagu Glacier to sip coffee above the clouds and explore the alpine beauty of Bipenggou Valley. From the ancient walls of Songzhou to the “Blue Tears” of Dujiangyan, this is a journey of constant awe.
Departing Chengdu, we drive through the Qiang ethnic region of Maoxian and the plateau town of Chuanzhusi. Our highlight is Huanglong National Park, famed for its calcified travertine pools that cascade down the valley like a golden dragon. Afterward, we transfer to the entrance of Jiuzhaigou for rest.
Dedicate a full day to the world-famous Jiuzhaigou Valley. Board the eco-bus to explore the three main valleys (Shuzheng, Rize, Zechawa). You will see the iconic Five Flower Lake, the wide Nuorilang Waterfall, and mirror-like ponds reflecting the snowy peaks. It is a photographer’s paradise.
Leaving Jiuzhaigou, we visit the historic Songzhou Ancient Town, a military garrison dating back to the Tang Dynasty. We then pass Diexi Lake, a stunning body of water formed by a 1933 earthquake. The journey continues to Heishui County, preparing for tomorrow’s glacier ascent.
Today brings a thrilling highlight: Dagu Glacier. Take the scenic cable car up to 4,860 meters above sea level. You can visit the “Loneliest Cafe in the World” at the summit and touch the ancient ice. After descending, we drive to the entrance of Bipenggou Valley (Li County) for the night.
Explore Bipenggou Valley in the morning, famous for its virgin forests, alpine lakes, and dramatic peaks (especially stunning in autumn). On the drive back to Chengdu, if time permits, we can stop in Dujiangyan to see the Zhongshuge Bookstore, the Selfie Panda, or the magical “Blue Tears” at Nanqiao Bridge.
